February 27th, 2019

We  are two weeks away from LGPE!  As we approach our evaluation, I'd like to remind you of some important pieces of information.

1. Clinician

Thanks to our Band and Orchestra Boosters, I had the funds to hire a guest clinician, Zac Lavender, to come and work with the students 2/27 and 2/28 during class.  Zac is a cellist who earned a bachelors in music composition at the University of Michigan and a graduate degree in film scoring at New York University.  He works in the Atlanta area as a composer and cello teacher.

2. LGPE Schedule

LGPE is on Thursday, March 14th at North Atlanta High School.  Below is an approximate schedule for the day.

3. Chaperones

We are still in need of at least two chaperones for LGPE.  If you're able to chaperone, let me know!

4. Food

Students will eat lunch at RICS before departing for LGPE.  We will not be stopping for food on the way home.  NAHS will be selling concessions, so bring money if you would like some!

5. LGPE Attendance

Due to the evaluation aspect of LGPE, it is imperative that all students attend.  LGPE is comparable to the Milestones in our subject area.  However, there is no makeup for LGPE like there is for the Milestones, so it is critical that all students are there.  This will be a graded performance for the students.  Students are also expected to be in attendance during the entire LGPE trip.  Students are expected to ride the bus to and from LGPE.  They will not be allowed to arrive late or leave early.
